EDS Providing Hot Meals to Displaced Residents at Temporary Shelter
PHILADELPHIA (December 11,2018) The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) continues to provide comfort and care to survivors of a fire that occurred at the Overbrook Gardens apartments in the 900 block of North 63 rd Street on December 10, 2018.
The EDS team served on-scene for over 19 hours assisting first responders on Monday. Currently, more than 40 individuals are being housed at the West Philadelphia High School that is serving as a temporary shelter for displaced residents. EDS has been assisting evacuees with meals, Emotional and Spiritual Care and other goods since the shelter opened.
